The Social Justice Ministry invites you to join their upcoming book discussion on KINDRED, by Octavia Butler.
If you are not familiar with the book or author: Octavia Butler was a multi-award winning author and recipient of the MacArthur “genius grant”. Kindred, originally published in 1979, follows a 26 year old woman who is dragged back in time from 1976 to her ancestors’ era as enslaved people before the Civil War.
Register on Realm and join us on Thursdays, March 3rd, 17th, and 24th from 7:15 to 8:15 via Zoom for conversation about this book selection. Where to buy KINDRED: If your means permit, please consider buying our next book club book, Kindred by Octavia Butler through a Black-owned bookseller. Independent bookstores don't have the volume to give you the discount and rapid delivery that Amazon does, but your dollars support a small Black business and thereby strengthen a community.
