Verger's Fall Workshop

Join the Verger Guild of the Diocese of Long Island on Saturday, November 9th from 11am to 3pm as it presents its fall workshop day at the cathedral focused on the history, use, and care of the church’s sacred vestments.

Steven Leavitt of Transfiguration Vestments will then lead us through a brief history of each of the principal vestments used in sacred worship, while Marianna Garthwaite Klaiman will take a closer look at vestment symbolism centered around rebirth and resurrection. Coffee and bagels will be served.

The cathedral's Resurrection Peacock, an exquisite piece of early-20th century metallic embroidery, will be revealed after its summer 2024 restoration by Marianna and remounting on new silk damask by Steven.

To register, please email the Dean’s Verger, Kyle Sabo, at ksabo@incarnationgc.org no later than November 2. All are welcome!
